OUR STORY

stay.png

After extensively refurbishing this Grade II 'listed' historical building and giving the premises a touch of curious interior design and warmth, we opened for business in May 2012. We have been welcoming locals and visitors to

Eat, Drink, Stay and Enjoy ever since.

A long time ago, before our doors were opened to the public, the Arctic explorer Admiral Parry is reported to have stayed here in 1839 in-between his travels. Records even show Mount Edgcumbe (known then as Mount Edgcumbe House) on Bowra's map as early as 1738! Our Georgian gem is certain to inspire your inner historian as you discover our 6th-century sandstone cave, and absorb the scenic views of our historic town from our flourishing leafy garden during the sunny months. When the weather is chilly we invite guests to sink into our plush sofas in front of our roaring open log fire.

As a family-run business, our main aim is to create a warm and welcoming atmosphere here at Mount Edgcumbe and to be your first stop whenever you with to Eat, Drink, Stay and Enjoy.

ALL ARE WELCOME

It is always a good idea to phone ahead and let us know your requirements so that we can make your experience comfortable. For the little ones we have colouring to keep them busy too. Please bring along your four legged friends who are very welcome in our bar area, downstairs restaurant, & front garden. All we kindly ask is that they are kept on their leads.

(Unfortunately, we do not allow dogs in our upstairs restaurant at this time.)
